One of the pillars of Australian Banking, Westpac, has embraced GreenPower. Westpac has committed to purchasing 5,000 mega watt hours of renewable GreenPower, enough to power nearly 800 households a year, or a town around the size of Deloraine in Tasmania or
Wee Waa in New South Wales*. GreenPower from Origin Energy accounts for 5 per cent of Westpac’s electricity consumption across its more than 1,800 Australian branches and offi ces and will result in a cut to Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions by 5,000 tonnes per annum, equivalent to taking about 1,100 cars off our roads.
